Carmichael SDA Church Bulletin
The world around us is searching. You can see it in the headlines, hear it in conversations at work, and feel it in the cultural noise around us—questions about identity, meaning, and hope are everywhere. The Athenians in Paul’s day were not much different. They filled their city with idols, altars, and philosophies, but still admitted there was something missing when they inscribed one altar “To the Unknown God.” Paul stepped into that moment of searching to proclaim the God who can be known, who gives life and breath to all people, and who revealed Himself through Jesus Christ.
This Sabbath, I’ll be preaching “The Gospel of the Unknown God” from Acts 17. We’ll reflect on Paul’s bold witness in Athens and consider how his example equips us to share our faith today—with courage, wisdom, and compassion—in a world that is still looking for the One true God.
