Carmichael SDA Church Bulletin
In a world obsessed with status, success, and self-promotion, we often find ourselves asking: “Am I doing enough? Am I making a name for myself?” Social media feeds are flooded with influencers, experts, and life-hacks all designed to help us climb higher, go faster, and achieve more. But is that really the goal?
This week, as we dive into the story of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11), we’re confronted with a crucial question that still echoes today: Are we more focused on making a name for ourselves or making a difference for God's kingdom? The builders of Babel wanted fame and security on their own terms—but their efforts led to confusion and division.
Yet, God offers us a different path. Through Abraham’s calling (Genesis 12) and the powerful moment of Pentecost (Acts 2), we see God’s heart for unity, purpose, and blessing—not just for ourselves, but for others.
Here’s the good news: God isn’t calling us to build towers of self-worth or chase fleeting fame. He’s inviting us to be part of something bigger—a mission that brings hope, healing, and love to a world in need.
This Sabbath, we’ll explore how to shift our focus from self-promotion to kingdom impact—from making a name to making a real difference.
See you this Sabbath as we worship, reflect, and refocus together.
Let’s make a difference!
