One of the greatest gifts the Creator gave us is our voice - we can communicate with others and affect their day simply with the sound waves that travel from our mouth to their ears. We can encourage the struggling, change the course of events, and even raise the dead (Jesus calling Lazarus) just by using the voice God gave us. God created the world with His voice - and he challenges us to think what we do with ours. What world are we creating with the sound that leaves our lungs?

One of the best thing we can do with our voice is sing - the Bible tells us that one of the first things we do when we finally see our Creator face to face is sing. This sabbath we gather like usual to encourage and be encourage by the fellowship we find in our church family. And this week we welcome in many others to join us as we enjoy the musical offerings of our SAA students. As we enjoy the music and hard work put in to the day may we reflect on how we use our voice - what do we spend time speaking or failing to speak? Do we use our voices in a way we would be proud to hear echoed back at us if our words were included in the worship service like the songs we’ll hear?

May we use our voice the way our Creator does - to create life where there is death, light where there is darkness and in the complexity of life may our voices rejoice with singing as we realize that God sings over us with rejoicing because His love never fails.
