Carmichael SDA Church Bulletin
We all grew up knowing that there were rules to follow, parents and teachers to obey, and with regards to education, many instructions to follow. No matter if we were home-schooled, went to public school, or went to SDA school, there were always instructions. And yet, it seems like every one of us from time to time gets weary of following the instructions. Sometimes we just want to rush ahead and do our own thing, assuming we know what the instructions will say. Several projects gone wrong from IKEA are evidence that often I clearly DO NOT know what the instructions were going to be. And that wobbly and unstable furniture with leftover parts rats me out every time. The Bible is full of good instructions that make our lives better and lead us to eternal life, yet we often approach those instructions with the same assumptions as IKEA furniture instructions. We'll be looking at some of God's interesting instructions to his people in the story of Joshua and compare what happened to God's people when they followed the instructions, and when they didn't.
